On October 9, 2014, the quarterly Americans For Fair Taxation board of directors meeting was held telephonically. We are very proud that all of our 32 directors were present on the call.
As Chairman of AFFT and President, I presented a report to the board concerning the financial status of AFFT and the status of the projects that have been undertaken by the Executive Committee on behalf of the board and AFFT.
A major portion of the meeting was directed to getting reports from committees about the progress they have made. AFFT now has the following committees that are actively working to address specific issues that will help us PASS THE FAIRTAX.
The committees and their AFFT director chairperson(s) are:
These committees meet regularly and have developed and implemented plans that will enable all of us to be more effective in our goal of PASS THE FAIRTAX.
Like you, all of us are volunteers and if any of you would like to join one of the committees and lend a hand we welcome your help. If you don’t have the contact data for a committee chairperson, please email Aaron at aaron.schutte@fairtax.org. He will provide you with the contact data for the chairperson of the committee in which you are interested.
Club 535
Club 535 is launched (Club535.org) and we already have our first 15 members. Please go to the website. It was done by AFFT director and Executive Committee member, Autry Pruitt, and explains the purpose of Club 535. There are several FairTax groups around the country that have pooled their resources to contribute $1000 to sponsor one of the 535 representatives and help fund an AFFT national presence in Washington, D.C.
AFFT Membership Drive
Our AFFT membership drive is now underway. This is a way of providing funding to AFFT and to the states because the membership money is split equally between AFFT and the states. If you are not a member please join. If you were planning to become a $50 member please consider buying $10 memberships for four friends and yourself. The same amount of money is raised but now we have five members and not one.
Unfair
Finally, UnFair is being shown on October 14th. This is the opportunity you have been waiting for to educate those friends or neighbors who “just don’t understand” that the IRS is a huge problem and must be eliminated. This is a movie that does this in an entertaining and convincing way and concludes by showing why the FairTax is the solution. Please click here to purchase your tickets and please take others with you.
