Chairman’s Report - October 2, 2014

This week many of us are eagerly awaiting the opening of "UnFair: Exposing the IRS".  It will be in a theater near you in less than two weeks, Tuesday, October 14th to be exact.

This is a movie that effectively does a number of things.  One, it is entertaining and interesting.  The famous movie producer Samuel Goldwyn said, “If you want to send a message, use Western Union.”  “Message” movies are often failures. This movie is an exception because it will entertain and hold the interest of almost everyone that sees it.

Two, it effectively demonstrates the truth of the old adage, “A picture is worth a thousand words.”  The IRS is thoroughly exposed as an organization that is not only corrupt but a corrosive influence on the United States.

Three, it demonstrates that the income tax system has become an abuse like Madison warned about in Federalist #62, “It be of little avail to the people that the laws are made by men of their own choice, if the laws be so voluminous that cannot be read, or so incoherent that they cannot be understood…”  Madison could have been writing about the present Internal Revenue Code.

Four, it conclusively makes the case that the only tax reform proposal that will correct the abuses of the income tax, raise the money needed to finance the government and stimulate the growth of the U.S. economy is the FairTax®.

Frustrating as it sometimes is, people will often listen to others more than their friends or family members.   This is an opportunity for all FairTax supporters to educate their friends, associates and family members as to what is really happening with the IRS and the solution.

Once they become aware of the real dangers of the IRS and the present income tax system, they will become ready to be members of AFFT and help us change the present system.

At some theaters you can still become a Theater Captain. You will be able to help answer questions, get petitions signed and help people become AFFT members.  Please click here for more information.
