FAIRtax in the News—A Sign We Are Winning

Many of you have seen the recent articles on the FAIRtax in national media. In some cases, they made critical comments about the FAIRtax that are totally unfounded and even laughable. However, all of these “attack” articles are acknowledging a fact - the FAIRtax is now seen as a viable tax reform option and a very real threat to the D.C. Elites.

As I recently said to Steve Forbes, “You should be happy to see the growing support for the FAIRtax because it will make your flat income tax plan look much better.” Steve smiled and acknowledged that what I said was true. The Elites know that they can still make their fortunes lobbying for exceptions from the flat income tax but not the FAIRtax.

To those of us who are used to seeing something broken and fixing or replacing it, it is hard to understand how Congress and the D.C. Elites can see the broken income tax system and not immediately replace it with the FAIRtax.

Are the Elites stupid or ignorant? No, stupid or ignorant people can be informed and then make the right decision, and most of the Elites are very smart people. That the FAIRtax provides the answer to economic growth, to more individual freedom, to more U.S. jobs, to more prosperity is actually understood by the Elites.

However, the Elites furiously defend the present broken and harmful system. Why?

Upton Sinclair said over a hundred years ago. “It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it.”

The present system allows the Elites to make more and more money by advocating “fixes” to the present income tax system that just make it worse and require their clients to pay them for more “fixes.” Then they lament the fact that the economy is not growing as it should, complain that the IRS continues to abuse Americans, and look around and act as if they have no responsibility for this situation.

The only way to overcome the Elites is for the voters to rise up and demand they do what is best for the country,  not what is best for the Elites. We can still vote out the Members of Congress who refuse to do what is best for America.

Please contact your Members of Congress not once, but repeatedly. Demand that the Members meet with you and that they become activist cosponsors of the FAIRtax.

Also, we are a grassroots organization run by volunteers.  Please contribute what you can to Americans For Fair Taxation. With your help we will keep the pressure on the Elites and we will win. When we win, America wins.

On To Washington - April 28-30

Peggy and I are scheduling our next trip to Washington, D.C. from April 28 to April 30.  Many of you have suggested that we contact the D.C. office of your Member of Congress.  This always works better if you first contact the office and ask that they meet with us.  If you want us to see your Member of Congress, please contact Peggy at peggy.green-ernst@fairtax.org.

If we arrange a meeting with the Member in your district, please let Peggy know if you can come to D.C. and be present. This will be very helpful because ultimately it is the district voters that motivate Members.

Thank You For Opening The  FAIRtax Chronicles, Our Sponsored Mailings

We have sent our first sponsored mailing and a fee of $3,000 is being paid to AFFT!  These funds help us pass the FAIRtax.

We plan to do several of these mailings each month. If you take a minute to open the sponsored emails and click through to the website, you are making an in kind contribution to AFFT.  It is not required to actually make a purchase, but your minute of time will ensure that AFFT is paid ever larger amounts from people paying for us to send their offers to our supporters.

Again, we are making every effort to ensure that we work with only reputable companies. If you feel that any FAIRtax sponsored email is objectionable, please email us at info@fairtax.org and tell us why. You can also opt to not receive these sponsored email messages but still receive FAIRtax emails.

Thank you for staying FairTax strong!
