FAIRtax Chronicles And Passing the FAIRtax
In the next few weeks, you will be receiving an email from a company that has paid Americans For Fair Taxation for the right to send a communication to our supporters. Many other groups do this because it is money that helps support their organization. This is money that we can use to fund our efforts to pass the FAIRtax while we continue to add 1040 Club Members.
When you get these FAIRtax Chronicles, please consider making a contribution to AFFT by opening the FAIRtax Chronicles, clicking on the sender’s website. The amount of money these companies will pay AFFT is directly determined by the size of our email list, the number of our supporters who open the emails and the number who click through to their sites.
Therefore, if you take a minute to open the FAIRtax Chronicles and click through to the website, you are making a contribution to AFFT. It is not required to actually make a purchase but your minute of time will ensure that AFFT receive’s ever larger amounts from people paying for the right to send emails to our supporters.
Finally, even though we are going to make every effort to ensure that only reputable companies send emails to you, While it is our hope that some of the offers will be of interest to you, AFFT is not endorsing companies sending the emails. If you feel that any FAIRtax Chronicle is objectionable please email us at info@fairtax.org and tell us why.
Participate In Our Next Visit to DC
Just a reminder, Peggy and I are scheduling our next trip to Washington, D.C. from April 28 to April 30. If you want us to see your Member of Congress, please contact Peggy at peggy.green-ernst@fairtax.org.
We are also making a list of Members with whom we want to meet, and Peggy will be contacting our grassroots people in those districts for assistance in arranging the meetings.
If you are interested in coming to D.C. for a meeting with the Member in your district, please let Peggy know. We would love to have you, but we do recognize it is much more economical for you to see your Member in his or her local office.
And we know that Members of Congress respond best when their constituents continue to pressure them. So please, don’t let up - continue to contact your elected representatives! Ask them to become activist cosponsors and meet with AFFT representatives when we visit the nation’s Capitol.
When you get a response, please contact peggy.green-ernst@fairtax.org and provide her with the contact information for the staff member with whom you have been communicating. She would also appreciate a brief explanation of what you requested and how they responded. Peggy will then follow up and try to arrange appointments for one of our upcoming trips to Washington.
Large Donors And Special Projects
As we continue to get more 1040 Club Members, I wanted you to know that I am speaking with a large donor who is impressed by our progress and is interested in discussing how he can become involved in a special project. Please join the 1040 Club if you haven’t, or have your spouse, family members or friends join. This will enable us to show that we have the full backing of the grassroots.
If you have specific projects that you believe will advance the FairTax, let Peggy or me know. And, if you know of a potential donor with whom we should speak, please contact me at steveh@fairtax.org.
Thank you for staying FairTax strong!
