MEET THE GOVERNOR
“The Governor is expecting you,” was a message that greeted the FAIRtax group as it arrived at Trinity Music City in Hendersonville, Tennessee for an August 3, 2018 taping of the Huckabee Show on TBN.
Dr. Tony Urbanek, Tennessee, and Jim and Christine Bennett, New Jersey, were ushered backstage for the arrival of the Governor, who was en route home from his trip to Israel. The Governor arrived and greeted each FAIRtax-er personally, and he noted the importance of having a President who will push for the FAIRtax. If anyone can push, it’s the Governor. He has the President’s ear. The FAIRtax-ers were given reserved front-row seating at the set, and they were recognized during one of the breaks. FAIRtax-ers Chuck and Mary Lynn Bailey from Huntsville, Alabama, joined the group.
The staff went out of its way to make the FAIRtax-ers feel welcome. All were able to meet the Governor following the show. At that time we made sure he understood our appreciation for his recent columns in support of the FAIRtax. The Governor stated he would be writing more in the future. Here is a picture taken after our meeting.

The consensus was that it was helpful that the Governor saw that the FAIRtax movement, under new management since 2015, is alive and well. Our presence gives the Governor reason to double down on his own support.
On their way down to Tennessee, Jim and Christine stopped by Roanoke, Virginia to visit FAIRtax leader and activist Don Koop, who lives in VA-06.

We might consider repeating the trip to the Huckabee Show, increasing FAIRtax participation at the event and rotating nearby FAIRtax-ers in to keep a profile visible to the Governor. An offer of support was made if he wanted to do a segment on the FAIRTtax during a future show. We can also plan visits to other grassroots groups and leaders.
CALL FOR PICTURES AND WRITEUPS
We need your pictures and news. If you have anything to share, please send your material to me at jim.bennett@fairtax.org, or text me at (908) 578-4975. When others see your activity, they are inspired, and the process snowballs. When the process snowballs, Congress Members and Senators and, yes, even the President start to listen.
