ANOTHER CANDIDATE SIGNS THE PLEDGE

Ryan Martinez, Candidate for Congress for the Eleventh District of New Jersey, signed the FAIRtax pledge on August 21, 2018. Ryan is one of eight Libertarians running in New Jersey’s twelve congressional districts.

We met Ryan through a friend of his who had reached out by e-mail to our Marketing and Communications Co-Chair, Randy Fischer. We followed through with the friend with an in-person meeting, and the friend introduced us to Ryan. Ryan and Jim Bennett had lunch. At lunch, Ryan liked what he heard about the FAIRtax but needed more time to study the proposal. Ryan invited Jim to speak to a monthly Northern New Jersey Libertarian meeting and, at the meeting, signed the pledge. We may get another candidate from that meeting to sign shortly.

Ryan is the eleventh candidate we know who recently signed the pledge. Other pledges we have received are from: 1. Shane Hazel, GA-07, candidate for US House; 2. Sharon Angle, NV-03, candidate for US House; 3. Justin Lurie, TX-04,  candidate for US House ; 4. Todd McKinley, TN-01, candidate for US House;  5. Dr. Kelli Ward, AZ, candidate for US Senate; 6. Allen Waters, MA, candidate for US Senate; 7. Ron DeSantis, FL, candidate for Governor, (waiting to sign when campaign starts); 8. Barry Moore, AL-02, candidate for US House; 9. Virginia Fuller, FL-05, candidate for US House; and 10. Gerald Beloin NH or VT, candidate for US Senate in 2020.

We note that Florida Governor Rick Scott, US Senate Candidate, is expected to sign the pledge soon. The 2016 Libertarian Presidential Candidate, Gary Johnson, signed the FAIRtax pledge at C-PAC in January 2018 but at the time was not running. Johnson Is now running for the US Senate in New Mexico as a Libertarian. We anticipate more.

Candidate pledges are a good way to raise the profile of the FAIRtax. You can help. CLICK HERE to visit a page where you can download a blank pledge in either jpeg or PDF format. Or, CLICK HERE to open the PDF directly, which you can share with others, print, or download to your computer. Get an appointment with the candidate and ask the candidate to sign the pledge.

If you are successful, send the signed pledge to me, contact information below. I can arrange an e-mail blast to our supporters who live in the candidate’s state or district. I can also send the pledge to our Marketing and Communications Team to get the most out of the pledge. Try to find out where the candidate’s opponents stand on the FAIRtax. Even if you can say only that you reached out to the opponents’ campaigns, and they did not respond, that information itself is valuable. You can publicize the pledge locally.

CALL FOR PICTURES AND WRITEUPS

We need more of you to send in pictures and news. If you have anything to share, please send your material to me at  jim.bennett@fairtax.org, or text me at (908) 578-4975. When others see your activity, they are inspired, and the process snowballs. When the process snowballs, Congress Members and Senators and, yes, even the President start to listen.
